In a heart-stopping turn of events, the serene roads of Kapilingozi Hills became the stage for a terrifying collision involving six vehicles. The incident, which occurred on December 3, 2023, will no doubt send shockwaves throughout the nation.
It all began when Joe Hansi, behind the wheel of a mammoth Sino Howo truck loaded with copper cathodes, veered off his lane like a rollercoaster gone rogue. Unleashing chaos upon the unsuspecting commuters, the truck slammed into a queue of five other vehicles, leaving destruction and mayhem in its wake.
As the dust settled, the aftermath revealed a scene of devastation. Peter Zulu, driving his trusty Toyota Axio, found himself amidst the pandemonium, suffering from general body pain. But the true victims were the three innocent juveniles, aged three, five, and twelve, who bore the brunt of the impact with serious injuries.
But the calamity didn’t stop there. Mutavesu Henry, parked peacefully nearby, had his peaceful reverie shattered when his Volvo truck took a brutal blow, leaving him nursing agonizing waist pain.
Naomi Lusambo, a survivor of this grotesque dance of metal, emerged unscathed as her Toyota Vitz bore the scars of battle. Sherry Mwale, however, wasn’t as fortunate, sporting a sizeable cut on her forehead, reminding all of the danger that lurked within the chaos.
Jackson Siabasimbi’s Mitsubishi Canter also fell victim to the truck’s rampage, suffering damage to its right side. And spare a thought for Shepherd Chinyama, a Zimbabwean national whose Scania truck had its tires shredded like confetti.
The injured were rushed to Mutendere Mission Hospital.
Joe Hansi, the one responsible for this catastrophic cascade, failed to stay in his lane, leading to the unimaginable chain of events that unfolded.
The Kapilingozi Hills accident serves as a chilling reminder that our roads can transform into treacherous battlegrounds in an instant. Let us pray for the swift recovery of those affected by this catastrophic incident and for the authorities to bring justice to those responsible.
Stay safe, dear readers, and may we all be spared from the unfortunate twists and turns that life on the road can bring.
