The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has expressed alarm over recent statements made by some opposition Members of Parliament that aim to create divisions along tribal and regional lines.
LAZ president Lungisani Zulu has condemned the statements, which he says threaten national unity, peace, and tranquility.
The association has emphasized that national unity is crucial for the country’s progress, stating that there is no cause worth sacrificing it.
Zulu has urged citizens to embrace their diversity and work together to address societal challenges.
He has since called on Members of Parliament and all political players to promote the national motto, “One Zambia One Nation,” and uphold the constitutional principles and values of patriotism and national unity, even in the face of differing opinions.
Zulu released this statement in furtherance of the associations mandate under the Law Association of Zambia Act, Chapter 31 of the Laws of Zambia, to promote constitutionalism and the public interest.
