It was an unforgettable evening of classical music at the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre on July 20th, 2024.

The concert, featuring opera singer Zdeňka Kotková and pianist Guncha Hojanepesova, was a phenomenal success, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of the hundreds who attended, from all over the country.

The number of people who had gathered to experience the magic of classical music was impressive.

The event, initially planned on a first-come, first-served basis, had to accommodate additional guests due to the overwhelming response.

Packed with no available space remaining, the event was an evening to remember.

The performances were breathtaking, with stunning classical masterpieces from iconic composers like Rossini, Puccini, Verdi, Chopin, Janáček, Obradors, Dvořák, Bellini, Kalmán, and Strauss.

The audience was captivated by the performers’ jaw-dropping talent.

Some attendees described it as transformational.

“The music transported me to a world of elegance and refinement, where the beauty of sound reigned supreme”

However what was most striking was the diversity of the audience.

People from all walks of life had gathered to share in their love for classical music.

It was heartening to see such a large number of people passionate about this genre.

And the Czech Embassy, which organized the event, was thrilled with the turnout and thanked everyone who attended for their support.

“Your love for culture continues to inspire us!” they exclaimed.

The event brought people together, creating a sense of community and shared appreciation for the arts, making it a night to remember and a testament to the power of music to bring people together
