While both the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga and the Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant have seemingly banked on fans to help the boys beat Sierra Leone tonight, some netizens have taken to social media expressing their views on the game.

Speaking to the media yesterday, Grant said the team showed a lot of commitment against Ivory Coast despite the loss, but hoped that with the help of the fans, the boys will emerge victorious in tonight’s game.

On the other hand, Mr Kamanga also, in his statement, said “we all need to put behind the disappointment of defeat in Bouake to African champions Coted’Idvoire,” while saying the massive support from fans would help the boys’ performance tonight.

Meanwhile, the netizens are in doubt if even with the support of fans the team would beat Sierra Leone in order to qualify to the AFCON tournament in succession.

In his comment on Facebook, Trent Richland Kasote said “the stadium was packed when we played Tanzania and Sierra Leone is better than Tanzania” while Tee Level said “Fans have never been the reason Zambia fails to win. It is the performance of the team. Also, we are not going to win games with Kabaso Chongo and Sunzu in defence.”

Izzy Isaac, in addressing Grant said “this one is tired, he needs rest” while Ezra Tembo told the coach “fans don’t play football bwana coach. Just select the right players who will then motivate supporters to cheer them up.”

In his squad, Grant has left out, among others, Fashion Sakala, who is arguably at his pick at Al-Fayha.
The move to leave him out has been generating heavy debate on social media and other media platforms bordering on the coach’s intentions for the national team.

The match will be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium tonight.
