ZNBC Board Chairperson Bishop Joseph Kazhila has urged citizens to support the national broadcaster by contributing to the increased TV levy, helping to sustain its operations. Bishop Kazhila also mentioned plans for ZNBC to establish solar plants to generate income by supplying power to ZESCO. On Wednesday, Information and Media Minister Cornelius Mweetwa announced the government’s decision to revise the TV levy, stating that ZNBC’s current revenue is insufficient to cover its direct costs. Speaking on the matter Thursday, Bishop Kazhila emphasized that only Zambians can sustain ZNBC, as it is a national institution.
