The Zambia Women’s National Team will face hosts South Africa in the final of the ongoing COSAFA Women’s Championship after a 2-0 win over holders Malawi on Thursday.

Goals from Ochumba Oseke Lubanji and Fridah Mukoma secured the victory for the Copper Queens.

The match was a repeat of the 2023 COSAFA Women’s Championship, with Zambia looking to avenge their previous loss.

After a scoreless first half, the Copper Queens took an early lead in the second half, with Lubanji scoring just seconds in after a defensive mix-up.

Mukoma doubled the lead in the 68th minute, dispossessing goalkeeper Mercy Sikelo to make it 2-0, marking her fourth goal of the tournament.

The final will be played on 2nd November 2024 at 15:00 hours12.
