A cyber security expert identified as Jeff Sitali has testified in court that he extracted 11 méssages between prophet John Nundwe, also known as John General, and the woman he is accused of s£xually ássáulting
The méssages were retrieved from an iPhǒne 13 prǒ max, belong to John general, and one of them showed the Victim asking the controversial prophet for help to cónceive, saying “Dady, what can I do for me to have a child?” In his response, prophet John General responded with “Bwela tupange” which means “come we make”.
This case involves one count of s£xual ássault, contrary to Sections 132 and 133 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
The incident is believed to have occurred on November 22, 2022, at the victims house in Lusaka, after she had asked John General for prayers to help her cónceive.
During yesterday’s hearing, Prosecutor Joe Phiri said the State was ready to proceed with one witness, and Jeff Sitali was called to testify.
And during his testimony, Jeff Sitali explained that he used a special tool to extract the mèssages and vôice notes from John generals phône.
He said that some of the mèssagés had no content however, and when the prosecution asked why that was so, the Mr Sitali explained that it could be possible that they were deleted by the sender or had a disappearing mèssages timèr.
In cross-examination, defence lawyer Yokonia Daka asked Jeff Sitali if he could tell with certainty if the mèssagès were deleted or had a disappearing setting, and Jeff Sitali said he couldn’t.
Another defence lawyer, Elijah Siatwaambo, then asked whether Sitali knew anything about the s£xual ássáult allegations against John Nundwe, to which he responded,
“That’s correct.”
The trial is set to continue on February 26 2025.
