Lusaka, Zambia – 14 February 2025

North Western Province Permanent Secretary, Col. Wishikoti Katambi (Rtd), has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing renovation works at Solwezi General Hospital. Speaking during a site visit today, Col. Katambi commended the contractors for the quality of works and progress made so far.

“I am happy with the progress made so far. As Government, we are confident that once completed, the hospital will provide quality healthcare to our people in Solwezi and surrounding areas,” said Col. Katambi.

The renovation project, which began in March last year, includes upgrading the hospital’s infrastructure, intensive care unit, wards, emergency room, radiology, and operating theater. The contractor has assured the government that the works will soon be completed.

Mr. Linos Kasokota, Builders Village Site Engineer, stated that major works have already been completed.

“We are committed to completing the project as soon as possible, as we understand the importance of the project to the people of Solwezi and surrounding areas,” said the contractor.

The cost of the project is K15,327,773.68.
