A 13-year-old Mufulira girl Bukata Bunda who was sh0t in the leg by a stray bullèt during a police pursuit of a fleeing suspect who had jumped out of a police vehicle in kantashi section 5 has gone under operation at Kitwe Teaching Hospital. Bukata’s father, Mwansa Mulenga has told Mafken news that after receiving treatment at Kitwe Central Hospital, the girl’s condition has stabilized.
He explained that the surgery, which lasted nearly three hours, has left the family hopeful for her recovery.
Mr. Mulenga stated that Bukata is responding well to treatment and even ate a small meal, which he sees as a positive sign towards her recovery.
The family has expressed gratitude for the medical care she has received during this difficult time.
