A suspected murder case has been reported in Ndola District, where a 30-year-old man, Geoffrey Katandula, was allegedly beaten to death by his wife, Rozaria Nsengele, on February 17, 2025. The incident occurred at the couple’s residence in Nkwazi compound, Ndola, between 15:30 and 22:00 hours.
According to the police report, the couple had a fight earlier that day, which was separated by their neighbor, Beatrice Mulenga. However, the fight escalated, and the deceased locked himself inside the house, leaving his wife outside. When the neighbor’s husband returned, they forced their way into the house and found Katandula dead.
Initially, the matter was reported as a “Brought In Dead” case, with the wife claiming that her husband had taken doom. However, upon inspecting the body, doctors found unusual bruises on the neck and hands, prompting the deceased’s relatives to report the matter to the police.
A postmortem examination conducted by Dr. Petrenko revealed that Katandula had a fatal throat injury, which could have caused his death. The police have opened a docket for suspected murder and are holding the wife for further questioning.
