A YOUTH of Chilanga has been apprehended in connection with over 30 complaints of suspected online fraud after advertising fake houses for rent via Facebook and receiving upfront payments.
Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), through the Cybersecurity Taskforce, apprehended Ibrahim Mumba, 29, after reports of people masquerading as landlords.
It had been reported that Mr Mumba and others had been falsely advertising houses for rent around Lusaka and obtaining money from unsuspecting members of the public.
“ZICTA, through the Cybersecurity Taskforce, received 33 complaints regarding unknown individuals advertising fake rental houses on Facebook.
