Police in Nyimba District have launched a manhunt for a 27-year-old man of Kachenja Village, in Chief Ndake’s area for allegedly murdering his young sister.
The suspects wife who’s also at large is alleged to have participated in the beating of the victim. The incident occurred last Sunday.
The suspect, Ackim Milambo reportedly started beating his young sister Lebetina Phiri aged 25 of Sindilani Village for questioning why he beat up their mother.
Milambo is alleged to have beaten his mother on Saturday, Brenda Lungu aged 48 for asking him about the cobs of maize that went missing from her field which is near his house.
Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Robertson Mweemba said the victim went to her elder brother’s house on Sunday to talk to him and asked him why he beat her mother.
However, the couple started beating the suspect who bled from the head as she had a broken skull and suspected fractured left hand.
Investigations in the matter are ongoing.
