Ministry of Energy Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, PETER MUMBA, says the recent gains the kwacha is recording against the US dollar are expected to gradually ease fuel prices.
However, he has clarified that reports quoting him as saying fuel prices will drop by 7% under the Open Access Framework were inaccurate.
Speaking during an inspection of the TAZAMA tank farm in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday, Mr Mumba said the framework is one of several contributing factors, but not solely responsible for price reductions.
