A 54-year-old man from Chifunda Chiefdom in Chama District of Eastern Province has survived a vicious crocodile attack in the Luangwa River.
Blaywell Sakala of Fundi village was attacked by a crocodile on April 23, 2025, around 09:00hrs while fishing in the said river.
Idesi Ng’uni, who is nursing Mr. Sakala at Kalasa Health Post, says the victim who was alone, fought back and managed to overpower the crocodile, freeing himself from its grip.
The victim sustained serious cuts on his left leg and some injuries on his right leg.
And Health personnel at Kalasa Health Post have described his condition as stable.
