Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says the future of cooperation is harnessing trade and investment as opposed to begging and giving.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says Zambia, therefore, needs to build on future cooperation which yield more investment and trade.

He said this at the residence of Zambia’s Ambassador to the USA Dr. CHIBAMBA KANYAMA to mark the end of the World Bank- IMF Spring Meetings.

And Dr. MUSOKOTWANE has described the 2025 World Bank and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings as successful.

He says the meetings gave Zambia an opportunity to review and renew its commitment to cooperation with the World Bank and IMF.

The Minister said most of the meetings were reviewing the work that Zambia is doing and Zambia has been singled out as a success story.

And Zambia’s SADC and COMESA endorsed candidate for the Presidency of the African Development Bank Dr. SAMUEL MAIMBO thanked the Government for its support in the campaigns.

Dr. MAIMBO also thanked SADC and COMESA for their support.

And Kasama Central Member of Parliament SIBONGILE MWAMBA, who is also
Member of the Parliamentary Committees on Public Accounts, and Foreign Affairs said during the same meeting that Zambia is doing well despite its own domestic challenges.

Ms MWAMBA added that food security should be key for the country.

And Mwandi Constituency and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on National Economy and Labour Matters SIBESO SEFULO emphasised the need to focus on youth employment especially in the mining sector.

Zambia was also participating in the Global Parliamentary Forum which was being held on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings.
