The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- has approved 43 licence applications, among them six construction permits.
ERB Manager, Public Relations, NAMUKOLO KASUMPA says the approved applications represent a total investment pledge of 3.9 billion Kwacha.
Ms KASUMPA says the approvals include the construction of a 12 megawatts Fitula solar plant in Chingola on the Copperbelt at a cost of 11.5 million dollars.
She says the 22 megawatts Garneton South solar plant in Kitwe on the Copperbelt, at a cost of 22.9 million dollars, is also among the projects approved.
Ms KASUMPA says the ERB remains committed to ensuring a transparent and supportive regulatory framework..
