On June 25th, 2025, at 21:06, the Kabwe Fire Brigade, under the leadership of Leading Firefighter Kaluba Abel, promptly responded to a serious road traffic accident and fire at Manyumbi Toll Gate involving an international freightliner truck.

The truck, owned by LMC Company from the Democratic Republic of Congo was driven by Jaguas Makanda and was en route from Kafue to the DRC, carrying steel round bars.

Eyewitnesses reported that the truck lost control during an overtaking maneuver, colliding with a bus and a tipper truck, causing it to veer into a nearby stream.Upon arrival, our dedicated team found the truck engulfed in flames and immediately launched firefighting operations.

With support from the Kapiri Mposhi Town Council Fire Brigade, the fire was successfully extinguished, and the road was cleared to ensure safe passage for traffic. Thankfully, no lives were lost.The Kabwe Fire Brigade’s rapid response and professionalism prevented further damage and potential tragedy.
