The survivor of the Rubis Filling Station robbery attack, Mapalo Mwewa, who is admitted to Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital, is out of danger and responding well to treatment.

Hospital Public Relations Officer Chizongo Siachiwena confirmed to ZNBC News that Mr. Mwewa survived extensive head injuries, multiple skull fractures, and bruises to the brain.

Ms. Siachiwena stated that while the injuries have affected his sight, he is nonetheless able to speak and walk.

She revealed in an interview with ZNBC News that the hospital ward is under security surveillance to protect the patient’s privacy following the circulation of a viral video showing Mr. Mwewa in hospital.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Mwewa, the father of the victim, expressed gratitude for the progress made in arresting the suspects.

He also called for justice to be served in the matter and thanked the hospital staff for their tireless efforts to save his son’s life.
