A Czech company actively operating in Zambia, VVS- Zambia and livestock services , is showcasing a new and environmentally friendly fly control product at the ongoing 97th Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show.
The company, which focuses on sustainable farming solutions, showcased the new product during a high-level tour of their exhibition stand, where Czech Ambassador to Zambia, H.E. Mr. Pavel Procházka, led Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Hon. Eng. Peter Chibwe Kapala, through a display of Czech agricultural innovations.

“It’s a very simple yet highly effective solution,” said a company representative. “It can be used in homes, markets, butcheries, chicken booths, chimneys, basically any place where flies are a problem”.
The company revealed its plans to launch the product on the Zambian market starting in January 2026, beginning in Lusaka with expansion plans into Mkushi and potentially the Southern Province. The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities, particularly for Zambian women, and promote knowledge transfer around simple, effective pest control technologies.

The Czech delegation’s involvement at the show didn’t end there. Caritas Czech Republic in Zambia (CCRZ) is also participating in the show, highlighting its ongoing projects supported by CzechAid. The initiatives the organisation focuses on include climate resilience, rural development, and refugee inclusion.
Victor Ng’anga, Project Coordinator at Meheba Refugee Settlement, who was at the Caritas stand, shared programmes supported by CzechAid, explaining how refugee families are growing honey, cassava, and maize. In Kaoma District, Fred Banda, a Project Officer, shared improvements in smallholder farming through drought-tolerant seeds, crop insurance, and cassava cooperatives.

Through these initiatives, Caritas Czech Republic has reached thousands of Zambian farmers, earning national recognition for promoting climate-smart agriculture.
The partnership between Czechia and Zambia is proof that international partnerships bear meaningful change.
