The United Party for National Development (UPND) has called on Zambians to maintain peace and unity of purpose as the body of the sixth republican President, Edgar Lungu, will be repatriated to Zambia for burial.United Party for National Development (UPND) Media Director, Mark Simuuwe, said that the final verdict on the burial case is not about winning or losing the judgment because no one is in competition.Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr Simuuwe explained that the government only used a civil way in resolving the impasse on late former President Lungu’s burial by going to the South African court. He noted that there is no need for hate speech during this period. He said people should instead focus more on national unity, while the country comforts the former first family through a solemn time.“We need to encourage many brothers and sisters to accept the decision of the court, meet as one and give the former Head of State a dignified send-off, then the country can move on,” Mr Simuuwe stated.CREDIT : ZANIS
