Community members Nancy, Gillan, and Doreen are actively involved in volunteer work that helps both disabled and able-bodied youth in the Kawama area of Mufulira District.

This initiative, which takes place at Twatsha Urban Health Centre’s Safe Space, aims to foster good hygiene among girls, especially during menstruation. The ladies also instructed the girls regarding the correct application of sanitary pads and warned them against the use of dirty cloths that leads to infections and other health complications.

Moreover, lectures based on “Purity and Maturity” discussing the growth changes in boys and girls were conducted. The program aims at educateing building self-esteem, and promote positive lifestyles among the youth.
