Residents of Chililabombwe’s Nakatindi Ward on the Copperbelt have expressed concern over the quality of water they are drinking.
The residents allege that the erratic water supply being experienced has forced many of them to consume water suspected to be contaminated with sewage.
They told Prime TV 2 news that the water the community depends is from a source which is near a sewer system, a situation that has contributed to an increase in reported cases of diarrheal diseases in the area.
The community has since appealed to the water utility company to urgently address the problem and ensure a consistent supply of clean and safe drinking water.
