MMD Leader Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba has called for National unity and dialogue, stating that the absence of unity restricts the extent of development for a Country.
Speaking yesterday on a live podcast interview which was streamed on various platforms, Dr Mumba also highlighted the need for alliance creation in the achievement of common goals.
“Any business leader understands the power of Partnerships in the realization of common goals, and a lot of Governments around the world are formed on Partnerships,” said Dr Mumba.
The MMD Leader further dismissed claims by political detractors who are suggesting that MMD is a mere UPND appendage. He clarified stating that alliances are simply engines created on the basis of shared core values, to win elections and implement a common national program.
And reacting to a caller who wondered why ACC only reacts to erring politicians after their party leaves power. The MMD Leader shared the caller’s position, indicating that in a lot of governments, when the Ministers are corrupt and are stealing, those Governments don’t do anything to punish those Government officials.
“There should not be any immunity to any Minister or PS involved in corrupt practices, whether they are in Government or out of Government… If we’re going to take people out of Government to ACC, people in Government must as well go and face ACC, otherwise the fight against corruption will be nothing but a sham,” said Dr Mumba
