A total of 19 people have died from motorbike-related accidents in Chipata District between January and July 31st this year.

According to National Road Safety Awareness Coordinator, Superintendent Paul Siloka, motorbike riders accounted for the majority of fatalities, with ten deaths, while the remaining nine were pillion passengers.

Superintendent Siloka also reported that 49 individuals sustained serious injuries, and 106 others were slightly injured during the same period.
