An 8-year-old girl has allegedly been defiled and infected with s£xually transmitted diseases (STDs) by a 25-year-old man in Chief Mwangala’s Chiefdom in Chadiza District of Eastern Province.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred between January 2025 and July 2025.
The matter was reported to the police by the Victim’s father.
Brief facts of the matter, in July this year, the victim started complaining to her mother about feeling pain in her private parts. Upon inspection, the mother observed sores and yellowish discharge, prompting further questioning.
Mr. Mweemba stated that when the mother examined her, she observed sores and yellowish discharge on the girl’s private parts.
The Police Commissioner says upon questioning, the victim revealed that the said man had been secretly entering her bedroom at night to have carnal knowledge of her.
He added that the testing at the hospital revealed that the victim had contracted some STDs.
Mr. Mweemba says the victim allegedly disclosed that the suspect had been entering her bedroom at night to s£xually abuse her.
He says a docket has been opened.
