The government has admitted that corruption in the process of accessing land in Zambia is deep-rooted and not easy to take out.
Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Sylvia Masebo says corruption in the land sector will take time to eradicate adding that the country still has a long way to go in addressing the persistent challenge.
Speaking at the launch of Braille Rights Materials by Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) in Lusaka, Ms. Masebo said accessing land extends beyond persons with visual impairments.
She explains that anyone lacking financial resources, information, or awareness of their rights is often excluded from land governance processes.
And TIZ Executive Director Maurice Nyambe has called on the government to allocate at least 10 percent of land specifically for persons with disabilities and simplify land application procedures to improve accessibility for all.
