The sentencing of former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has been adjourned to September 1st, 2025.

According to ZNBC News, Lusambo was convicted for possessing two Chamba Valley properties believed to be proceeds of crime, but the matter was pushed forward after his lawyers objected to a submission by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) prosecutor Anne Bento that he should be treated as a second offender.

Ms. Bento told the court that the former minister had previously been convicted on similar charges and called court clerk Vincent Shanzambwa to testify on his earlier conviction before Magistrate Faides Hamaundu.

However, defence lawyer Jonas Zimba argued that the principle of a second offender could not apply in this case, as Lusambo is still serving his earlier sentence. Magistrate Davis Chibwili subsequently adjourned the matter to allow for further consideration.
