President Hakainde Hichilema has implored the people of Sinazongwe to take pride in the economic activities that are taking place in the district.

Speaking in a speech read on his behalf by Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Gift Sialubalo, at the Maliko Lwiindi traditional ceremony, President Hichilema said the Maamba energy thermal power plant and the solar projects that will produce more than 700 megawatts of power for the national grid are unique projects that people of Sinazongwe must support.

He said government is also working on the Batoka Maamba road that is not only creating jobs for local people but also promoting economic growth in key sectors of mining, energy, agriculture, livestock, fisheries and tourism.

And President Hichilema has congratulated chieftainess Sinazongwe for holding the Maliko Lwiindi traditional ceremony successfully this year.

Meanwhile, chieftainess Sinazongwe has commended the government for the tangible development recorded in Sinazongwe district.

Speaking on behalf of the chieftainess, Maliko Royal Establishment Secretary, Gilbert Siavwapa, appreciated developmental projects implemented under the constituency development fund (CDF)
