Over K4 million worth of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects in Chovwe ward in Kalumbila district have been commissioned, marking a significant milestone in infrastructure development delivery in the area.

Kalumbila Town Council Chairperson, Shadrick Munjunga, stated that the projects reflect the government’s commitment to delivering people-centered and inclusive development.

“The government prioritises creating jobs and economic opportunities for youth and women, improving access to quality education for all children, expanding access to clean and safe water, and promoting social infrastructure that unites and supports communities,” Mr Munjunga said at the handover ceremony.

He said the projects include the rehabilitation of five staff houses at Chovwe primary school by Maratom Engineering Limited, at a cost of over K901,000.

Meanwhile, Kalumbila District Commissioner, Brenda Sankisa, thanked the government for its unwavering commitment to developing the district.

And Sub Chief Mukumbi Katotola, also expressed gratitude to the government for the increased CDF, noting that it has enhanced development in the area.
