The man, identified through his driver’s licence and National Registration Card as Mwila Mwansa Chitambo, was found in a vehicle parked on Chipulukusu Road, opposite a lodge.
Copperbelt Province Police deputy commanding officer, Edwin Kalumba confirmed the incident in an interview.
He said the case of sudden and natural death occurred between September 1 at 21:00 hours and September 2 at 00:45 hours at Chipulukusu Old Market on Chipulukusu Road.
Mr Kalumba said the matter was reported by the officer in charge of Kanyanje Police Post, who found an unconscious person in a yellow Toyota Vitz motor vehicle with registration number BCE 6414, parked opposite a lodge.
“While officers were on patrol around 00:45 hours, they found the vehicle parked along the road at Chipulukusu Old Market. When the officer looked through the window, he saw a man sleeping in the car while holding a bottle of beer,” he said.
Mr Kalumba said when the officer tried to knock on the car door, there was no response.
