In a leaked audio, RTSA CEO, Amon Mweemba, suggests that a candidate had placed second best in an interview, only because of their tríbe.
He gives no justification for that conclusion other than that the candidate had a brilliant CV.
That’s the problem with being tríbal.
Mr Mweemba surely knows that having a wonderful CV does not even begin to guarantee that one will pass an interview.
If CVs equalled competence, there would be no interviews.A bigger tragedy is that the head of a national institution had a whole conversation announcing he would ensure that hiring would be on tríbal basís.
That means applicants for jobs at RTSA, that happen to be not Mr Mweemba’s preferred Tónga, will have to wait until his appetite for his tribésmatés to be employed is satíated
As with the candidate who performed best in an interview, but was bumped off from the top spot for no other reason than that the CEO wánted a Tônga, anyone applying to get a job at RTSA should know that Mr. Mweemba’s tríbali§m makes their application a waste of time.
That’s sick to me. Unethical and dangerously detrímental to the performance of the institution.
Mr Mweemba whatever your thoughts about the matter, your position at RTSA is now untenable.
You probably will not resign, but I hope you do understand that we now all know that there is someone out there who would be working at RTSA, if you had not unfairly interfered with the results of a recruitment process.
Instead, someone else is there, only because of their tribe.
Tragic for both, shameful for you.
