Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) cadres in Chama District on Tuesday offered solidarity to District Commissioner (DC) Yobe Goma, who appeared before the Magistrate Court in connection with pòaching-related offences.

The cadres, who later had to be dispersed by police, reportedly stormed government offices, allegedly demanding the removal of the District Administrative Officer for reasons that remain unclear.

Mr. Goma was recently apprehended for pòaching-related offences and has since appeared in court.

The matter has been adjourned to 28th September 2025 for continuation of trial.Police have maintained heightened presence in the district offices to prevent further disturbances.
