Brian demanded back the k500 I asked for food, Ruth Ronnie painfully tells the court.

SOCIAL media personality Ruth Mukanga, commonly known as Ruth Ronnie has dragged her ex-partner, Brian Kapyanga, to court over alleged assault during an altercation at Lewanika Mall.

Ruth, 32, who is also a singer, sombrely testified in court how Brian púlled her hair and púnched her face during the ordeal.

She also accuses the youth of continued harassment and trespassing at her home and also threatening to plant drúgs the premises and also to k!ll her.

“…at some point, his friend called me informing me on his plans to plant drúgs in my house and implícaté me…he abúsed me physically emotionally and mentally. He violated my privacy,” Ruth narrated.

She added that the time the duo were in a relationship, he once insúlted her while the duo were out partying.

“….he started insulting me and that’s how the argument escalated until two men came to drag me to a secluded area. There, my ex came to punch me, pulled my hair and broke my finger,” the singer added.

She narrated that the incident happened at Lewanika Mall where the couple went around 11pm into the following day around 04:00 or 05:00 on July 8, 2025.

“My ex-boyfriend had an argument but sorted it out. We went to my apartment then around 6AM, we went to long acres,” the singer said.

As trial continued, Ruth said the accused at some point began insulting her while duo were out.

“He started insulting me, that’s how the argument escalated until two men came to dragged me to a secluded area. There, my ex came to punch me, pulled my hair and broke my finger.”

“…he started filming me, threatening to post and expose my drunken behaviour online as he was beating me on the ground. I tried getting up but was in pain and injured,” Ms Mukanga said.

She said Brian later walked away before two men went to her aid.

“I called his mother to explain what was happening then later I saw Brian coming back with a group of guys even recording. He came requesting for a K500 that I got from him the previous evening for food,” the singer added.

Ruth said Brian grabbed her phone and bag and instructed the two men to take her to Longacres Police, where Brian later arrived with his two friends who helped in assaulting her.

She said Brian and his friends accused her of owing the ex-boyfriend money.

“I was asked to pay him with immediate effect of which I did. Trying to explain my self i was blocked. I then suggested to report the assault but I was told there was no officer who deals with such matters,” Ruth said.

She said she then phoned her friend Victoria Muhone to alert her about the incident, which was later reported to the police.

Brian is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, allegations he denies.
