The High Court of Zambia has ordered the forfeiture of assets belonging to Sena Plus Investments Limited, a prominent player in the logging and transportation industry, following allegations of financial misconduct and failure to settle claims on vehicles and equipment.

Court documents show that the seized assets include 1,899 Mopane logs, 152 Mukwa logs, 19 Mupapa logs, 40 planks, vehicles, heavy machinery such as a Fork Lifter and a Wheel Loader, and the company’s premises in Lusaka.

In a statement, Gilbert A. Phiri, Director of Public Prosecutions, described the case as “an exemplification of interagency coordination.” He explained:

“You have the National Prosecution Authority asset forfeiture department coordinating with Department of National Parks, Wildlife, including the Forestry Department, cooperating partners like Wildlife Crime Prevention. All these working together is what resulted in the forfeiture of what you see here, including these premises. This coordination under the interagency long may it continue is about closing all loops for criminality. What is on display here are precious resources for this country.

If you believe in the rule of law, it means that everyone must abide by the laws of this country.”Mr Phiri emphasized that business in Zambia must operate within the law, and that the forfeited assets are now the property of the government and the people of Zambia. He added that a team will determine the best use of the facility, either as a going concern to create jobs and add value to products or through other means, ensuring the assets do not “crumble into ruins.”

The forfeiture highlights the importance of transparency, accountability, and interagency cooperation in protecting Zambia’s resources and enforcing financial regulations.
