Diamond TV Senior Manager and Head of Content, Dingindaba Jonah Buyoya, has joined the BBC World Service.

Diamond TV Chief Visionary Officer Costa Mwansa has described Buyoya’s journey with the station as one marked by hard work and dedication.

“Dingindaba has been instrumental in shaping our identity from the very beginning, joining us as a News Anchor, Producer, and Presenter. As Senior Manager for Content, he helped drive many of our successful projects and innovations. His passion for quality content has set a standard of excellence for our team,” read part of the statement.

Mwansa said Buyoya will continue to work with Diamond Media as a correspondent and consultant.

Buyoya, who won the 2022 BBC News Komla Dumor Award, which honours outstanding African journalists, will be based in Kenya in his new role with the BBC.

In 2024, Buyoya made headlines when he revealed that he had turned down an earlier offer from the BBC to continue working with Diamond TV Zambia.
