2026 presidential hopeful Hon. Kelvin Kaunda has given a job to Lisa Kaoma, the young woman whose graduation video went viral and was circulated nationally and internationally.
Kaunda posted on social media that Lisa would be employed at a named hospital in Lusaka. He stated that her employment was a sign of his act of forgiveness and encouragement for Lisa.
“Lisa deserves a second chance; a chance to demonstrate that one youthful excitement should not define her future,” he said.
Kaunda affirmed he was judging the act by Lisa by what he witnessed as an act of confidence, passion, and joy of having accomplished something she’s waited for, for a long time. He stated that young professionals are human too and no different from their mentors or leaders; they need help, guidance, and not judgment.
Kaunda stated he was linking the occasion with the upcoming observance of the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, and Reconciliation while also addressing the celebrations of greetings, forgiveness, a spirit of reconciliation, and renewal in leadership.
“On this National Day of Prayer, I think it is best lived out through action, being forgiven and giving others cause to hope again,” he wrote.
He called on social media users to share her contact information with him and informed Lisa that she will also report for work on Monday, October 20th, 2025.
