Unknown people have broken into the Apostolic Faith Mission church in Chipata District of Eastern Province, stealing sound equipment valued at K23,000.

The stolen equipment includes an amplifier, two high-range speakers, and a microphone.

The incident occurred between October 18, 2025, around 22:00 hours and October 19, 2025, around 4:00 hours in Down Shops area, with thieves gaining entry by breaking the locking system of the rear door.

According to Eastern Province Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba, Apostolic Faith Mission in Zambia Rehoboth Fellowship Church Elder Justine Mtonga, 47, of David Kaunda Compound, reported the matter on behalf of the church.

The facts of the matter are that on October 18, 2025, around 22:00 hours, Raymond Mubiana, 39, the caretaker at the church, checked and secured all doors and grill doors before retiring to his house within the church premises.

However, when he woke up on October 19, 2025, around 7:00 hours, he discovered the church had been broken into.

Mr. Mweemba stated that the police visited the scene, and the caretaker was picked for questioning to aid with investigations, but no arrests have been made.
