An Applied Nuclear Physicist at the University of Zambia – UNZA has described the lightning strike which killed 24 cattle in Limulunga, Western Province, as a natural phenomenon caused by ionized air and not an act of witchcraft.
Speaking in an interview with ZNBC news, Mr. CHISHIMBA said that lightning is a scientific occurrence resulting from electrical charges in the atmosphere.
He explained that it happens when air becomes ionized creating a path between clouds and the ground which allows an electrical discharge to occur.
