In a spirited celebration of Zambia’s independence, hundreds of residents gathered at the District Administration Offices to witness the hoisting of the national flag at exactly midnight on October 24th. The event marked another milestone in the nation’s journey towards unity and progress.
The ceremony was attended by district HOD, including District Administrative Officer Mr. Weston Phiri, Zambia Police Officer-In-Charge Mr. Chalinda J. Nyirenda, Community Officer Mr. Thomas Banda, and District Education Board Secretary Mr. Quabaniso Ndhlovu. Their presence underscored the significance of this national occasion for the people of Chama.
Prior to the flag raising, the district hosted a vibrant modeling show featuring an array of traditional and contemporary attire worn by local youth. The showcase celebrated Chama’s rich cultural heritage and youthful creativity, adding a lively flavor to the festivities.
