Former Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili has travelled to South Africa to seek medical treatment.
Mr. Kambwili reportedly departed yesterday, following a period of ill health that has persisted for several months.
The outspoken politician has previously battled health complications, including heart and blood pressure-related conditions, which have at times required specialized treatment abroad.
While details of his current condition remain unclear, sources close to the family say the former minister is expected to undergo a series of medical reviews while in South Africa.
Mr. Kambwili has been a prominent figure in Zambian politics, having served in various ministerial positions and as a Member of Parliament for Roan Constituency.
