The Livingstone District Health Office is intensifying efforts to prevent HIV infections by expanding access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis -PrEP- and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis –PEP- services.

In an interview with ZNBC News, Livingstone District HIV Testing and Community Programme Officer, KELVIN WATALA, said the district has recorded significant progress in the uptake of these services with over 1,000 people opting for injectable PrEP

.Mr. WATALA said some individuals have since transitioned from oral to injectable PrEP; while new clients prefer starting with injectable PrEP.

He said the office is working with health communities to increase awareness and uptake of the services.
