A 24-YEAR-OLD man of Lumezi District has di£d after allegedly being beaten by four men who attacked him over suspicions of having an affair with the girlfriend of one of the gang members.
The victim, Moffat Ndhlovu – who was deaf and mute – was reportedly assaulted by the group after they encountered him at a mobile market known as Bwandila.
Eastern Province police commanding officer Robertson Mweemba said the incident occurred on October 27, 2025, around 18:00 hours.
Ndhlovu later died on Wednesday at Lumezi Mission Hospital.
Mr Mweemba said the suspects are all of Kaipeleke village in Lumezi District.
He said it is rumoured that both Ndhlovu and Robert Phiri were romantically involved with the same girl, identified only as Violet.
