Filmmaker and media executive David Kazadi has alleged that members of the police leaked a long-private video of him after his phone was confiscated during an investigation into an earlier viral scandal.
Kazadi says he first reported voluntarily to the authorities following the circulation of an explicit video involving model Mwaka Halwiindi. At that time, he handed over his phone for investigation, as he told the Kenny T One on One podcast.
He claims that shortly before the launch of a new creative project, another private video—allegedly filmed years ago in the UK—surfaced online. He questions the timing and source of the leak and how content from his device ended up in the public domain. According to him, this represents a serious breach of privacy and undermines his trust.
Kazadi emphasised that he understands the cultural and legal sensitivities in Zambia around explicit content, but he says he expected confidentiality from the authorities who held his device. He said, “I trusted that my data would be protected. If someone leaks private content, that is a serious breach of privacy. Distribution is a major concern here.”
The filmmaker is now calling for accountability and clarification from law-enforcement agencies over how sensitive material was handled and leaked.
