At 66 years old, Elizabeth Grace Chewe has shown that it is never too late to pursue an education. Born on 31st October 1958, she is now proudly enrolled in Grade 12 at Kacheta Secondary School in Chilanga District, thanks to the government’s free education policy and support from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

For many years, Elizabeth believed her dream of completing school had passed. Like many women of her generation, she focused on raising a family and taking care of her home. But when free education was introduced, and Kacheta Secondary School received new desks and a classroom block through Chilanga Constituency CDF, her dream was revived and she made the brave decision to return to school.

Now at 66, Elizabeth is sitting for her Grade 12 examinations, a true example of determination and hope. Being back in class at her age has brought her great joy and pride. The improved learning facilities have also made it easier for both young and older learners to study in a comfortable environment.

Her story has inspired many people in Kacheta Ward and beyond. She is a reminder that education has no age limit and that it is never too late to follow your dreams.

Through the CDF programme, Chilanga Constituency continues to improve schools and give more people access to education. Elizabeth’s journey shows how such initiatives are changing lives and giving communities new opportunities for growth.

As she writes her final examinations, we wish Elizabeth Grace Chewe all the best. Her courage and commitment to education will continue to encourage others to keep learning, no matter their age.
