The government has installed a new digital X-ray machine at Chama District Hospital, valued at over one million Kwacha.
District Health Director, Dr. Billiaty Phiri, told ZNBC News that the new equipment has significantly improved efficiency and image quality compared to the outdated analog system.
Senior Resident Medical Officer, Dr. Gift Zimba, noted that the previous analog machine was prone to frequent breakdowns, which disrupted service delivery. He added that the digital upgrade has streamlined the radiography process, enhancing care for both patients and healthcare professionals.
Radiography Technologist Timothy Mwansa highlighted that the new machine offers superior resolution, enabling more accurate diagnoses and better clinical outcomes.
