Chief Visionary Officer (CVO) of Medland Hospital Dr. Mohamed El Sahili hosted a Town Hall meeting yesterday to address their staff members and the media on the 2026 vision and mission of the institution that has held a leading position as Zambia’s most innovative medical facility since its inception in August 2019.
With over 6 years of operation in the health sector in Zambia, Medland Hospital has survived the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to maintain the quality of healthcare in the three years post the public health crisis.
“We faced a pandemic that shook the strongest economies on earth. Supply chains collapsed, costs of business exploded, many of our best-trained employees were recruited away” said Dr El Sahili. He continued to state that, “ Despite these challenges, Medland Hospital continues to stand by its people – In crisis and post crisis”.
As of the 1st of January 2026, Medland Hospital will undergo a strategic shift in organizational culture to improve the delivery of health services and cultivate better systems in catering to patients. “From today onwards, you’re going to feel and see the positive changes in every corner of Medland Hospital because we listened to you, our patients, and drew lessons from the past three years of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic”.
From AI-powered utilities, innovative medical practices, training opportunities and state-of-the art surgical equipment – Medland Hospital will offer the community much more in the years to come. “In conclusion, I will directly address the question – Is Medland Hospital being sold and closing down? My answer is yes, but in the best possible way. We are closing down rumors of closure born out of temporary challenges. And yes we are selling – We are selling the Medland dream every single day. Medland is very much alive, growing and here to stay”, stated Dr El Sahili.
Dr El Sahili confirmed the hospital’s adoption of sustainable and green energy solutions to combat the on-going energy crisis in the country. To ensure customer confidence and patient security, Medland Hospital is committed to keeping the lights on while delivering top quality healthcare services.
