Fellow Citizens,We have just completed a productive seven-hour meeting with the leadership of the Oasis Forum, a coalition of civil society organisations.

We remain steadfast in our belief that open dialogue is key to addressing any challenges that may arise within our society. Our country’s diversity means we will inevitably hold divergent opinions on certain national matters and that is fine with us.

Throughout the meeting, we underscored the importance of ensuring that the constitutional review process should not become a source of division. Since the beginning of our administration, all the policy and regulatory reforms we have pursued have been designed to improve the wellbeing of our people. We are committed to the fair and equitable distribution of resources for every citizen.

We sincerely appreciate the Oasis Forum leadership, including Archbishop Ignatius Chama, for graciously accepting our invitation to engage in meaningful dialogue. We are encouraged by the forum’s willingness to continue these discussions in pursuit of our nation’s best interests.

May God bless Zambia.

Hakainde Hichilema ,President of the Republic of Zambia.
