THE Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia (OMCAZ) has projected a fuel price increase of K3 to K4 in 2026 if mitigation measures, such as capacitating Indeni, are not put in place.

On Sunday, the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) increased the price of petrol by 96 ngwee, diesel by K1.63, kerosene by K1.47 and jet A-1 by K1.67, attributing the hike to higher international oil costs and the Kwacha depreciation.

In an interview, Monday, OMCAZ president Dr Kafula Mubanga stressed that fuel prices would continue to increase if government did not implement mitigation measures. “Our projection is that you may grow the current price to almost K3 to K4 upwards in 2026 if mitigation measures are not put in place.
