The Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Hon. Mike Elton Mposha, has appointed a new Board of Directors for the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA).

The eight-member board, appointed for a three-year term, comprises representatives from the private sector, government ministries, and a non-governmental organization. The members are expected to bring their expertise and commitment to strengthen environmental governance and advance Zambia’s green growth agenda.

In a press statement, Minister Mposha congratulated the newly appointed members and urged them to provide decisive leadership and ensure the smooth continuity of ZEMA’s regulatory functions.

The new Board is expected to build on ZEMA’s efforts to promote sustainable environmental management and address environmental challenges in Zambia.

The appointment is in line with the Environmental Management Act No. 12 of 2011, as amended by Act No. 8 of 2023.

The Minister will unveil the new Board soon, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Zambia’s environmental management efforts.
