Zambia’s Rafeal Sharon won gold in the Under 18 Category at the Just ended African Youth Chess Championship in Zimbabwe.
His triumph saw him get the country back to the medal podium since 2016 when Zambia, last produced a continental Champion at Youth level.
Sharon as since earned an International Master (IM) title making him one the youngest in Zambia.
Zambia also minted silver in the girls Under 10 Category through Vankhedekar Nikhil Nitya.
Nitya has since earned the Woman Candidate Master title.
